The past danger
2005-08-22, 9:55 p.m.

Just realized how often i'm injured. I'm always falling off bicycles, but it's of course different. I didn't fall off when i was learning or anything, didn't need to learn but that's all together another story. I fell whenever i raced, like once over the stony grounds, had gashes all over my knee because of the stones, the other time over the puddle of water at the basketball court because the wheel had no grip when i had to turn, that's the two that i remembered, probably because they were more recent. Maybe you'll feel that the injuries i got from the recent motorbike accident are really bad, true, they are. *winces* But i thank whoever's up there (thanks!) that the other time, there were no mishap. Thinking back, it was really reckless and dangerous.

It was just earlier this year i think, if not late last year. I was over at my cousins' place, and they've this old bike there that's so spoilt, the hand brakes, the speedometer, oil meter, all the lights were not working. Then one night, my cousin (the same as this time's) took me out for a drive, at that time, i couldn't really drive that bike with the gear and it being lightless and all. We drove really fast on the main road that had endless traffic, and we had no lights. Nothing, no brake lights, no head lights. We were using handphone lights! (wheee~!) Then to return faster and in a way safer, we went by the back route, which had no headlamps, surrounded by trees, like the road had cut right through the forest. And we were seriously speeding then. I bet we were driving at least 120kmph. It's crazy really, it was impossible to see even 10cm ahead of us, and we just raced through, one reason being, it was really freaky being there, like in the middle of nothing. Gosh, imagined if there was just a pebble and we drove over it, we could've gotten into a fatal accident and nobody would know. The severity of the incident just kinda struck me these few days, yeah i thought about it at that time, but i didn't like realize how dangerous it really is. If we'd gotten into some sort of accident then, it won't be about flying 3-4m, it's about surviving the fall. And we had no helmets on. >.< It's scary when you think about it, but i must admit, i had fun. I'm just so glad i'm here safe and sound. Still worried about having an extra piece of meat on my knee thought. (plsss no extra meat, just cover the hole and make it look the way it was before the loss. plsss!) Thank goodness.
