the king's ship
2006-08-11, 2:29 a.m.

Yo! I'm studying math. Break time. xP Anyway, i'm only posting this coz i felt this need to say this out after reading the earliest entries in my guestbook. I miss colin sia. Him and his nutty ways, wonder if he has changed much. Sorta missed those days again, should just stop thinking about the past so much, i've got a long future to worry about, not gonna have much energy to miss the past.

Well, since i've started. Firstly, how's NS for all you guys out there. It's been quite lonely, suddenly all my gaming friends are not around so much anymore. There are new friends i guess, but it's all rather different.

I saw this really interesting analogy out there..somewhere on the net. Basically, it's about this country of drunkards who were happy with their king (also a drunkard) because drunk people don't care much. One day, the king died, then they built a ship in memory of the king. Let's call it the king ship. They would go upon the ship anually and merry the night away. As time went by, the ship (like all things) went through wear and tear, the people used boards and patched up holes, cloth to patch up sails etc. All the discarded pieces of the boat were one day found by a boy from the very country. Using the materials, he made another boat, which looked the same as the king ship. Now the question arises, is the new ship the real king ship, or the old one that's been replaced by new materials.

The truly interesting part is not the question itself, but the debate it sparked off. There were so many views, rather insightful. The real question in this analogy after answering the first, is, do you see the link between this and your own life? Feel free to leave notes in the guestbook on this. =)

I think that's enough, after coming online with the intention to sorta dedicate this entry to colz, this happened. Oops. =) Back to math. Signing off.
