It's choices that separates us

Hello, going freestyle today. Topic is choices. Might have discussed this topic before, but whatever i said, i promise this will be different.
Firstly, i'll like to quote Harry Potter, not the exact quote i'm afraid, but if you read Potter, you'd know what i'm talking about. It's choices that makes us different. Different from everyone else around us, different from our closest friends, different from our parents who brought us to this world. Why do people with similar interests get together? Probably because they agree on more things, taking the same choice in the same matters.
What actually got me started on this was when i was talking to another friend, not one close, not one familiar either, someone i'd thought was rather different from me. And after much talking, i realized there ain't really that much difference in us, except the paths we'd chosen to take deviated a little, the branches in our trees went different ways. But the roots will remain the same. I started thinking, would i have chosen other things in the past? If i did, how would i have changed? My life hasn't been the smoothest-sailing cruise, but it really hasn't been too bad. Yes, yes, i could've been born in africa, probably dead to malnutrition, or aids, or or..some warped rare disease i've never even heard of. I just cannot see myself in those weird places, i just meant, different like my character, my approach to things and people. Though currently, i can't think of anything major that would've changed my life drastically. I'm the product of every little things that'd happened. I'm not perfect, sometimes i try, sometimes i don't try hard enough, and sometimes, i just don't care.
People want choices, they feel that having a choice is the symbol to having some form of freedom, how deluded some people can get. There are limited choices, either by nature or by others, and sometimes, having a choice isn't the best situation to be in, when all you wanna do is dig a hole and find a sleeping pill to escape from choosing. Sometimes, people make wrong choices, minor or major, they regret. Some move on, some get stuck. This proves that choices aren't always the best things to have.
If ever you feel like me, feel that mild inferiority, feel the need to look or think like anyone else, remember. It is the choices in life that we made that made us different and unique. Imitations are never as good as the original. Why be the imitation when you can be the original. Make people play your game, do not play theirs. You own the field you're on. Takkaire.
